Month:7!

Wow, I can't believe I'm already to the 7th month!!! Again, I have to say that this pregnancy is going by WAY faster than Eliott's! We have been very, very busy getting everything ready for the baby, and for me to go back to work. I have an awesome cousin, Liz, who spent A LOT of time helping me paint, and re-arrange, and get things going. Everyone should know someone like this....I can't even imagine getting it all done without her help! Not to mention, she's trying to get her own house ready to move into, (and has a little boy of her own who is just as 'busy' as Eli!) I can't thank her enough (neither can Chad....!)!!! We got the baby's room painted, the dining room, kitchen, and entry-way painted. We also painted the 2 front doors, and re-arranged the living room. It looks GREAT!!! I will post pictures, but I'm still waiting for Chad to get the curtains up that I made for the entry, kitchen, and dining room. Also, he just finished putting the wood floor in the baby's room tonight, but we have to get the crib put together, and lots of finishing touches done! I'm so excited about all of the progress we have made....All of these things we've been wanting to do, and they are finally coming together! The baby needs to hold on a little longer, because we are not quite ready!

As far as how I am feeling- Great! For the most part. I am just now starting to feel like bending and sitting and squatting are getting a little harder. I had a 28 week appt. yesterday with my doctor. I am now going to appts. every 2 weeks. He said that he wants to see me again in 2 weeks, and we are going to be doing another ultra-sound. I was pretty excited to hear that I would have an ultra-sound at 30 weeks. His comment to me was "make sure Chad comes, because this will be a good one. It will look more like a baby, and less like and alien!" (Our Dr. has a great sense of humor, which we love!) I thought to ask why I was having another one, because I knew that wasn't normal, but of course, never did. I was already worried and stressed about it on the way home from the appt., so I put a call in to my nurse asking why. She called me back and said that the Dr. wants to have another ultra-sound just as a precaution because of my low weight gain. Up until now I have only put on 5 pounds. I don't look like I've only gained that much-but that's what the scale says. She said that he doesn't anticipate there to be any problems, and the 20 week ultra-sound looked great, but he wants to just make sure. I'm trying not to worry about it, I'm sure everything is fine, but it's going to be kind of a long 2 weeks of waiting..... I guess it's probably hard for my body to gain weight after all of the chasing that I do after a little one around here!!!

Here is an update from babycenter.com as to what is happening during week 28:
How your baby's growing:By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Eli's Room!

We have been working really hard at our house to get things ready for the new baby on the way. We've had lots of little projects that we've had on the "to-do" list, but hadn't gotten to. The goal is to have it all done before Mommy goes back to work. Then there is never time for extras! Tomorrow we are going to start some painting projects, and we should be be getting to the end of it. I'll post pictures of the baby's room once we are done with that.
Here is the new shelf that Grandpa S. made for Eli's room. It looks so cute! We love that we have room to hang coats, hats, and his library bag- opening up some room in the entry-way!

Mommy made these new curtains, also. We are hoping this will help Eli to sleep in a little longer in there morning! So far, we haven't noticed a real big change! Although, he does like his new curtains, and is sure to show anyone who comes over to visit!

5 Years!

Chad and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Friday, July 10th. Hard to believe it's been that long already! We celebrated the day together by taking Eliott to a waterpark. We all had a lot of fun! Eli was a little upset when Daddy got to go on the waterslides and he didn't. He's pretty brave, and not afraid of much!

More cabin pics

I spent lots of time in my bathtub at the cabin this weekend!
"Moms Little Sparkler!"

My friend, Maggie, came to our cabin for a little bit on Saturday night. She helped me with my first sparklers. I thought they were "hot"!

Daddy took my for my first jet-ski ride this weekend. I really liked it, but Daddy said that I didn't move the entire ride!

"Oh, no!"

More 4th pics

Yummy lunch!! We had a nacho bar for lunch after the parade! It was great-thanks Brandon and Steph!
Eliott went for his first pony ride this weekend! At first he wasn't quite sure, but he seemed to like it.

Here are the four babies from last year...getting so big! It's getting a little harder to get a picture of all of them- that's why we needed the cage! We lured them in with Cheetos. It kind of worked!

The sandbox is the place where the little ones spent most of their free time this weekend. They had so much fun!

More fun parade pics!

Jill, Steph, Tammy, Michele, Erica
Eliott was still able to find candy to snack on, even though he was in the parade!

We will have 2 more additions to the float next year! The babies are due within 2 weeks of each other!

Eliott loves monkeys! He got to take this one home with him after the parade. It now has to sleep in his bed with him!

1st place float!

The friends and neighbors from our cabin worked together to assemble the Platte Lake Assoc. float for the 4th of July parade this year. We came up with a jungle theme, and had t-shirts made to go along with the theme. Our float turned out AWESOME!!!! It was so good, we took 1st place in the parade!
It was hard to get a full shot of the float. There was so much on it, and SO many kids!!!!

We had a look-out tower that some kids stood on. That is a tree we had in the background. The t-shirts said "It's a Jungle at Platte Lake!"

Julie also made an awesome waterfall that stood in the center of the float, right behind the tree. It even lit up with Christmas lights! It looked really good!

We had a gator in the front with Ray and Eli on in (just like last year). Then the float is being pulled behind by the big red truck. Now we have to start brain-storming for next year. We already have a pretty good idea....

4th Of July Softball

We had our 2nd annual 4th of July softball game at the ball field by our cabin. All our cabin friends and neighbors come. Everyone gets to play, and everyone gets to bat. There are "treats" at each base. There is a treat for kids, and one for adults. By the time you make it home, you have had a lot to fill up on! Here are the captains waiting to pick their teams.
Eli and Wes spent their time blowing bubbles. Wes thought it was really funny when Eliott would blow bubbles, but not so funny when anyone else did!

Mommy and Eli at the game.

The 'kids' treat at 3rd base was oreo cookies. Looks like Wes made it to 3rd base a few times!!

A big group photo! That's a lot of ball players!! There's a reason we only went 3 innings! (you should be able to click the photo to see a close-up)

July 4th Weekend

What a cute picture of Eli and Daddy fishing at the lake!
Yay!! Look at Eli's fish!!!

Watching Daddy cast, waiting to hold the fishing rod.

So excited to go fishing with Daddy!
